About

Sandy Griffith is a biostatistics PhD with over a decade of experience in biomedical research and expertise in real-world evidence, patient-reported outcomes, oncology, neurology, and health equity. She is experienced in leading collaborative research with a track-record of over 35 peer-reviewed manuscripts, as well as numerous conference abstracts. Her previous roles include Director/Principal Quantitative Scientist at Flatiron Health and Assistant Professor of Medicine at Cleveland Clinic/Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. Sandy currently works as an independent consultant based out of NY.

Real-world Evidence Scientist: As an early employee at Flatiron Health, Sandy led the development of several seminal real-world endpoints, including mortality and tumor progression. These endpoints unlocked key use cases for Flatiron’s real-world data, including regulatory filings and external control arms. Sandy has focused efforts on understanding both the strengths and limitations of real-world data, particularly in generating robust evidence in the presence of incomplete data.

Patient-Reported Outcomes Expertise: As a faculty member at Cleveland Clinic, Sandy collaborated with a cross-functional team to select, analyze, and interpret PROs collected at scale and linked with EHR data across therapeutic areas including neurology, psychiatry, and cardiovascular. She conducted research on PRO topics including scale linkage, differential item functioning, and data quality evaluation.

In her free time, Sandy enjoys long-distance hiking and competitive powerlifting.
